Matt is a Shareholder and the head of the Firm’s litigation department. His practice is primarily devoted to matters involving general civil and commercial litigation where he has first chair jury and bench trial experience in State and Federal court.

He received his undergraduate degree as a Distinguished Military Graduate, Texas A & M University in 1986. He received his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1989 where he was the Leading Articles Editor for The International Lawyer, (1988-1989).

Matt’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, creditor’s rights, construction law, special education litigation, copyright and trademark litigation, and general commercial litigation. He also has extensive experience in litigation and risk management matters involving church and ministry organizations.

Matt’s clients include national creditors and equipment leasing companies, homebuilders and commercial contractors, children with special needs, entities engaged in various businesses throughout the State of Texas as well as church and ministry organizations in a wide range of jurisdictions.

Matt has been frequently retained as a third-party expert on attorneys’ fees.
